Erbaluce – Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG
Een autochtone druif dat samen met Timorasso meer aandacht zou moeten krijgen. Produceert wijnen met een verrassend ouderingspotentieel. Erbaluce di Caluso is een DOCG in het uiterste noorden van Piemonte, grenzend aan Valle d’Aosta. De graniteuze bodems zorgen voor een mineraal profiel, terwijl Erbaluce van nature een honing- en oxidatief complex karakter toont.

100% Erbaluce fermented and aged for six months on the fine lees in stainless steel. Deep straw yellow. Enticing nose of bread crust and preserved lemons. It’s savoury rather than fruity and with minerally, iodine notes and a hint of liquorice powder. Savoury lemon-preserve and apricot fruit palate with ripe acidity playing the perfect supporting role. Great balance and length of stony minerally fruit. This has bags of personality and at the same time is really understated, like it was forced from stone.
